Then count those votes as self votes, as most of them would probably come from the author themselves anyway.
EDIT: Or what Ike said.

The purpose of the test is to test whether you have an understanding of the material, not if you've simply memorized it and can regurgitate it. In fact, I'm sure the reason he put the 'trick questions' on the test was in order to see who understood the material and was paying attention and who was simply memorizing facts without taking the time and effort to actually understand them.

Got, I'm going to have to agree with everyone here. That rule is pretty... well, I hate to sound offensive, but it's completely stupid. No self-voting would solve so much. I made absolutely sure not to vote for any of my characters last year, and even SKIPPED a category where it would have been the only other choice. I'm sorry to say that I don't support this Awards Ceremony. I was tempted to ban nominations for my characters as a sign of protest, but after something Ike said, I was convinced that something like that wouldn't exactly be right. Everyone has said what I've wanted to say in ways that are much better than I could ever say. I just wanted you to know my stance.

Alright, I'll remove the rule then. Just try not to go too overboard with the freedom, kay guys? I am still leaving the "at least four nominations from different RPs in" to make sure there is still a fair chance. Honestly, I didn't think it'd be such a big deal. However, I think we can at least agree on the limit of characters by a certain person, given the Most Depressing Character one from last year was literally 75% GD. xD And I did replace that one with Creepiest Character, GD, since you were opposed to it last year.
Hopefully there won't be any more erguing over the rules, this is supposed to be a fun event, guys. And I really can't please everybody, including myself. So can we try and just have fun with this now?

Everyone keeps mentioning the best villain. I need to finish that ET post, and remind everyone who the REAL villain is - The most heartless, cruel, sociopathic, psychotic a** in the universe of roleplays. I am of course, talking about Demin Waltens.

Villains really will be a tough one this year. Between Glitch, Malus, Thereme, and more, it's going to be a fun one!
Also, check the OP; I prettied it up with a little something!

Category: Best Power Moment/Character/Weapon/Etc.: Emotion and/or Sensation Swapping by Touch Role-Play: Town of the Extraordinary Details: I think Samuel Fields has a really original power. I haven't seen anything like it before. The character can't feel emotions on his own, so everything he feels is second-hand and artificial. I really like the whole idea and I hope Samuel gets more attention in TotE at some stage.

gotMLK7 wrote: My proof is the Best Duo category last year. There were around ten choices, and the winners, Aya and Parsee, won with a vote of two, both of which were self-votes. SHH, GOT, SHH. It was a joint win with Narome and Kea anyway. Thanks for the nomination, SE! I'll make a few now. Category: Funniest Character Moment/Character/Weapon/Etc.: Porcus (Ghostly Banette) Role-Play: The 1st Annual AAO RP Tournament Details: Porcus' complete obliviousness leads to some of the tournament's funniest moments. Without even meaning to, he enrages Onic by not being able to remember Vegeta's name. Category: Coolest Outfit or Design Moment/Character/Weapon/Etc.: Narome (LunchPolice) Role-Play: Endless Time Details: Definitely one of the most striking designs in ET. The punctors, crazy hair style and the partially green skin add up to one cool looking character. Category: Best Character in Endless Time Moment/Character/Weapon/Etc.: Kenneth Roymond (GuardianDreamer) Details: Kenneth's story was one of the most depressing in ET. He literally never gets a break from having a life that's terrible all the way through. The one moment that could be considered happy is when he's relieved to finally be dying... which just makes it all the more depressing. To add to this, his completely antisocial behaviour makes his character interaction always entertaining. Not only that but he manages to be an extremely sympathetic character while at the same time being one of the most evil characters in ET, having pretty much no redeeming features at all.

I would define a new RP as far back as three months...

Well this sorta fell. Anyways. I don't think I'll accept the New RP one. I don't know, it just doesn't feel like being "promising" is enough to warrant a category. It'd pretty much end up being a recent RP that has the most sign-ups/activity (probably Infinite Odyssey), and that doesn't feel like it needs a reward. Sorry, not accepting. Nominations are pretty blank so far. Anybody else?

The spots will get filled up, don't you worry. Be patient. Of course there won't be a surge of nominations at the beginning like last time because this isn't the first one. Give it time. Of course it doesn't really help that you started this one six months early but ah well.
