By the way, everyone, the rules have been updated, slightly, thanks to some good suggestions by ED. In particular, the way that entries are judged has changed. Now hosts must give some categories that each entry will be judged under. Each entry must have a short (or long) review written about it, based on these categories.
You have so many entrants so far... very interesting. I intend to join as well, with a comedy trial. I don't expect to win, but I'll do my best. So, what makes me different from all the rest that have signed up, you may ask? One simple thing... I have haipeshots. Yes, you heard that right. Haipeshots. They're better than screenshots. Because they're made of haipe. Yes. Clearly, this is the most original and creative invention ever, and I didn't just slightly change the name of it. You should love this new creation. Because it's just that great. Definitely. I'll provide one now. Might post more later.
Naturally though, you must all hear the story of how haipeshots are actually created. Because it's a very complicated process.
Spoiler : How Haipeshots Are Made :
I laughed evilly, as a flash of thunder appeared in the night sky. Truly, this was the greatest invention ever. After mixing several body parts from aliens, werewolves, dragons, humans, vampires, and a bunch of other creatures I won't mention, I had created the ultimate invention. It was some sort of weird bone mail thingy. Unfortunately, this wasn't a haipeshot. I would need to do something else for that. My blood sacrifice rituals had been for nothing. Oh well, that just meant I needed to try harder. Clearly, I needed to sacrifice more skeleton lungs to some kind of evil being. Yep. Skeleton lungs. That made total sense.
"Work faster, work slave!" I yelled at some sort of strange human-sized mouse that was currently running on a wheel, which was powering up my computer. Yep. That's totally how my computer is powered, most definitely. There were several more flashes of thunder, as I continued to laugh evilly and proceeded to work on my entry. Finally, I would actually be able to take haipeshots.
"I'm tired... wouldn't it make more sense to get a more efficient way of powering your computer?" The human-like mouse asked, continuing to run on the wheel that powered my computer. It was clear that it was getting very tired. Maybe I should actually consider it?
But then the haipe would never happen.

Great theme! I've got an idea and I might enter with it if I have enough time, but I'm not sure yet. Can I first try to write a little on the trial and then sign up if it seems like I can finish it before the DL, or do I have to sign up first?
You can absolutely work on it some before making a final decision.
