Hey, guys, it's the Emperor of Flame, AKA CardiaX, and welcome to my first completed serious trial! This was my entry for clcman's and TheWhiteWolfos' "Fire and Ice" comp. Their review got A's and B's on the story, theme, characterization, and originality. The presentation apparently stunk, though. TwiGav and I are currently revamping it, though. So you will have a good trial coming up very soon!

This game features Logic, Psyche-Locks, Perception, Confrontations, Counter-Cross-Examinations, and... Passwords? Yeah. Every trial part is password-protected. At the end of every part, you will get the password for the next part. The other features don't exactly work like they do in the real games, and seldom used, actually. But hey, I try. And guess what? Apollo's bracelet actually becomes USEFUL as a piece of evidence.

CardiaX and TwiGav Present:
A Blue Emperor Production:
Turnabout Freezeflame

Introduction
Investigation
Trial Former
Trial Medial
Trial Latter
Conclusion

Here's the walkthrough, BUT SHAME ON YOU IF YOU DARE TO READ IT.
Spoiler : :
What the--!? Who dares interrupt my eternal slumber!?

--------------------
Introduction
--------------------

Talk > The Trial
Talk > Phoenix Wright (Optional)
Talk > Blizzard
Talk > One man?

Well, now that's taken care of...

Move > Criminal Affairs Department
Talk > Blizzard

And now, to Edgeworth's point of view.

Talk > Security (Optional)
Move > Flamenight Inn -- Exterior
Move > ???

That was short. Surely you didn't get stuck here, because from now on, it's the real deal.

-------------------
Investigation
-------------------

Talk > Why You Are Here

And now that we have permission to investigate, let's hop to it, shall we?

Move > Flamenight Inn -- Hallway
Talk > Security (Optional)
Move > Flamenight Inn -- Exterior
Talk > Why You are Here
Move > Flamenight Forest

Now make sure you pay attention to Edgeworth here.

Talk > Arson
Talk > Blizzard
Talk > Evidence
Examine > The ground
Logic > Activate (Make sure you activate it at "Flamenight Forest"! It won't work anywhere else!)
Present > Evidence > Note -- Ashes
Present > Evidence > Note -- Igniter (It doesn't matter what order you present them in.)

And now, a confrontation with Matthews.

=====Riley's Logic=====
Statement 1: As you know, the arson took place in this forest at 6:00 P.M. yesterday.
Statement 2: And at that time, Mr. Butz claims to have been walking here. Nobody else was here at that time.
Statement 3: An accident is unlikely since camping in this forest is illegal.
Statement 4: And let us not forget a certain wallet which I found on the ground.
Statement 5: All of these facts clearly point towards Mr. Butz.

Present > Profiles > Miles Edgeworth at Statement 2.
"I present to you evidence that the wallet was dropped after the crime!"
Present > Evidence > Wallet
=======================
Now we will be teleported to the Hockweb Clinic.

Talk > Patient's Condition
Move > Flamenight Inn -- Exterior
Psyche-Lock > Activate

=====Why You Are Here=====
"I have proof that you know more than you're letting on."
Present > Profiles > Trevor Ius
"There is a piece of evidence that can prove you weren't there when the information was revealed!"
Present > Evidence > Combo Camera
"After all, I found..."
a. a wallet
b. a tennis racket
c. a shoe
A wallet.
"The murderer of Mr. Ius is...!"
Present > Profiles > Larry Butz
==========================
Talk > The Murder
Move > Flamenight Forest
Talk > Murder

And ANOTHER confrontation!

=====Why Suspect Larry?=====
Statement 1: Well, let's say that Mr. Butz is the one who started the fire.
Statement 2: Going with this scenario, the killer would likely be the arsonist as well.
Statement 3: There is decisive evidence such as the wallet and screwdriver, which bore the suspect's prints.
Statement 4: Mr. Ius also claims to have seen him start the fire.
Statement 5: Out of fear that he would be found out, Mr. Butz assaulted Mr. Ius to silence him.

Present > Evidence > Wallet/Screwdriver at Statement 3
"This proves the existence of a second possible scenario!"
Present > Profiles > Trevor Ius

And there you have it. That's the entire investigation.
Huh? Whuzzat? It's too short? OF COURSE IT'S SHORT, it's separated from the introduction! See ya next week!

-------------------
Trial Former
-------------------

=====The Night of the Crime=====
Statement 1: The arson occurred at 6:00 P.M. on that night. However, the murder happened five minutes before.
Statement 2: The forest where the arson started was near an underground hotel called the Flamenight Hotel.
Statement 3: A witness discovered the defendant starting the fire at that time.
Statement 4: We also found the defendant's wallet and a screwdriver with his name on it!
Statement 5: When the defendant noticed the witness, he brutally assaulted him!
Statement 6: The victim was then left to burn, but he somehow escaped the majority of the fire and survived!
Statement 7: The witness fell unconscious, but we found him with my special camera!

Press Statement 1.
Press Statement 2.
Press Statement 3.
Press Statement 4.
Press Statement 5.
Press Statement 6.
Press Statement 7.
"Do I have any evidence that can be doubted?"
a. There is no evidence.
b. There is evidence.
There is evidence.
"What piece of evidence doesn't fit?"
Present > Evidence > Wooden Box

=====What I Witnessed=====
Statement 1: Well, I was just taking a hike through the forest when I saw it happen:
Statement 2: That man in the defendant's chair was holding an igniter! It looked like he was going to burn the forest!
Statement 3: Before I could run and tell the police, he noticed me and attacked!

Present > Evidence > Igniter

=====The Equipment Used=====
Statement 1: All of the equipment used in this crime was made by me.
Statement 2: The igniter in question is a prototype with a timer function. It's very well disguised.
Statement 3: I installed a gravitational forcefield into the crate, which protected it from the fire.
Statement 4: And the snackoos have a short fuse. Though, they're easy to attach to the box.
Statement 5: The defendant was a client who requested these items.
Statement 6: But never did I suspect he would be using them to commit such a heinous crime!

Present > Evidence > Screwdriver

=====What I Witnessed, Pt. 2=====
Statement 1: When I saw the box, it was lined with a bunch of snackoos.
Statement 2: Realizing it was the same equipment that client had requested, I turned to call the police!
Statement 3: That man then noticed me and attacked me while my back was turned!

And... Matthews will take it from here.

-------------------
Trial Medial
-------------------

=====Who Went In and Out=====
Statement 1: The only people who went in and out were the defendant and Edgie!

(Jerk.)
=====What I Witnessed=====
Statement 1: ...So I was walking in the forest, as I said before, when I saw the defendant.
Statement 2: He had all of the equipment I made for him with him.
Statement 3: He whipped out that igniter and screwed it into the box!
Statement 4: The box exploded with fire and ice! The defendant started laughing maniacally!
Statement 5: And I tripped on his wallet while I was running, which is when he heard me!

Present > Evidence > Wallet at Statement 5.

=====Ius's Rebuttal=====
Statement 1: To start, everyone except the defendant has an alibi for when the arson happened!
Statement 2: So what if my gloveprints are on the wallet!? That doesn't prove that I planted it there!
Statement 3: I assumed the defendant dropped his wallet and picked it up! That explains that contradiction!
Statement 4: I never even claimed to make the screwdriver! But I did make the box, bombs, and igniter!
Statement 5: Also, if my gloveprints were on the wallet, wouldn't they be on everything else?
Statement 6: Note that there are no prints on anything other than the wallet!
Statement 7: And remember! I was unconscious while he committed the crime!
Statement 8: Surely, you aren't about to claim that I knocked myself out! Why on earth would I do that!?

Press Statement 3
"Something's fishy with this wallet. Should I keep pressing?"
a. Press harder
b. Leave it
Press harder
"You want evidence?"
a. I have it!
b. Too bad!
I have it!
"Now why would Mr. Ius be so stressed over this wallet?"
Present > Evidence > Wallet

-------------------
Trial Latter
-------------------

"Mr. Butz leaves his wallet at the inn, and it is stolen by Mr. Ius later. Proof?"
Present > Evidence > Wallet
"And I have a very good theory as to how he knocked the defendant unconscious!"
Present > Evidence > Screwdriver
"However, his plan had one critical flaw in it. And this shows that flaw!"
Present > Evidence > Wallet
"And this explains the error made by the defendant!"
Present > Evidence > Igniter
"And this is my evidence of said motive!"
Present > Evidence > Card

=====Larry's Rebuttal=====
Statement 1: I'm telling you, I have nothing to do with this crime.
Statement 2: Apollo's wrong! I didn't assault the victim! He did it to himself!
Statement 3: All I did was discover the fire! As a gentleman, I was about to report it when that man hit me!
Statement 4: You should be ashamed of yourself, accusing your own client like that, Horns!

"Is this important?"
a. Object
b. Listen
Listen
"..."
a. Object
b. Listen
Object
"That sounded..."
a. Object
b. Listen
Object

=====The Final Testimony=====
Statement 1: I received this letter last week, I believe.
Statement 2: But just because it told me to do it doesn't mean I actually did.
Statement 3: The next day, that man came and asked me to make some stuff for him.
Statement 4: That client should be your real suspect, right?
Statement 5: After all, there's that wallet pointing to him.
Statement 6: I hate to repeat myself, but I was just hiking through the forest on that night! Pure coincidence!
Statement 7: Then I stumbled on the defendant, who was setting up an arson!
Statement 8: I knocked him unconscious and tried to disarm the bomb, but couldn't.
Statement 9: It was then that I was about to call the fire department, and that's when he hit me from behind!
Statement 10: Naturally, I would wear gloves due to my dangerous profession...
Statement 11: ...but I just happened to pick up that towel off the ground! That renders that evidence irrelevant!
Statement 12: I don't even know who "Shade" is!
Statement 13: So we're right back where we started! The defendant is the arsonist!

Press Statement 2.
"Unless... you have evidence that could prove this?"
a. Present evidence
b. Back off
Present evidence
Present > Evidence > Attempted Murder Report
"The answer is simple! There was..."
a. ...a third person!
b. ...no murder!
c. ...a bear!
...a third person!
Press Statement 6.
"But do I even have any evidence...?"
a. Present evidence
b. Back off
"Here's proof that the witness being at the scene at that time wasn't just a coincidence!"
Present > Evidence > Weather Report
"Err... could you direct me to the page you're referring to?"
a. February 16
b. February 17
c. February 18
February 17

Okaaaaay, plot twist!

"What is the real cause of unconsciousness?"
Present > Evidence > Screwdriver
"Think fast, Justice! Is there really...?"
a. There is no evidence.
b. There is evidence.
There is evidence.
"What piece of evidence proves that a third person committed the arson?"
Present > Evidence > Gloves

Another plot twist! Yay!

-------------------
Conclusion
-------------------

Aaaaaaand, more plot twists.
Anyway, just sit back and enjoy the cutscenes, and then "Shade" will eventually come up and tell you your score. It doesn't matter how well you do, your score will always be completely random, based on what Shade thinks. He really is just writing down a random number.

Yeah, somehow I feel like the Psyche-Lock effects are bugged. (Unas, perhaps you could fix that in V6?)

Hol, you'll have to tell us what you think about the trial before you tell us that you don't like it. Just sayin.

You should elaborate on this. Give some constructive criticism. If the trial is underwhelming, give CardiaX and TwiGav some ideas to improve it. Because as-is, your post just comes off as being a little rude and unnecessarily blunt. Plus, since it's his first completed trial, you should give him a little lee-way. :)

Sorry for coming off as such. I just don't have the time to go in-depth right now. I'll elaborate later. Again, sorry.

Spoiler : :
- Seeing as how this is the only completed trial... you have one thing going for you.
-'Sup with no timers in this introduction?
-Wow. No caller I.D.?
-OH NOSE A BLIZZARD
-"After all, if he is given the wrong verdict..." No offense, but I can't help but find that as a generic sentence.
-All of a sudden he gets bad reception?
-"Edgeworth!? What happened!?" Surely this didn't have anything to do with the bad reception Edgeworth said he had.
-Uh... why cornered music?
-Notice how the witness shouts with a smile on his face~
-Whoa! That was one whitty Payne comment!
-He... faints?
-HURR HE DID
-Wait: Wouldn't Trucy and Apollo been notified that their father/friend collapsed during a middle of a trial? Seems like something you wouldn't overlook.
-Sure. Tell him not to scare you in his your head. He'll remember that one for sure.
-Hm... if he collapsed, why would he win? He'd need... medical attention.
-Technically, the defense can't postpone the trial if they lack evidence. If the case lacks evidence, however...
-Why was he so shocked at a blizzard?
-Why wouldn't you hear that he retook the bar exam? You work with him... :|
-Wtf flying colors?
-How can your forge a test?
-Obviously you passed the test if you're defending someone.
-OH NO BLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIZARD. Honestly, I don't see why this is such a big deal.
-Oh, he's a PROSECUTOR? That changes everything. [/sarcasm]
-It moved in while they're on the phone? Funny... he was talking about there already being a blizzard.
-Dude, it's really stressing me out how exaggerated this is.
-Now we need sad music?
-You know what competent means, right? That's not Gumshoe...
-Then you shouldn't have brought it up, Feenie. And why does he say it with an evil grin?
-Ironically, Gummy showed up.

I'm taking a break, I'll finish this later. But... I'm seeing major problems this early. :side:
