Hey guys, I'm new here. I registered on the forum so I could play around with the trial editor, and I wanted to show what I've come up with so far. It's a trial featuring Prosecutor Godot, and it plays through the cross-examination of the first witness. Comments and suggestions are appreciated!

(Edit: I moved this trial back to incomplete. As I was working on Part 2 I was focused on trying to put together a challenging and compelling game, and in doing so Phoenix just kept getting more and more out of character. I want to rewrite this with a defense attorney that can be a strong foil for the player without having people complain that he's too good or too smart, because I don't want that to overshadow the rest of the story that I'm developing.)

For someone who can manage to do a press in order this trial has a lot of sloppiness. There were no wait timers, the cross-examination didn't have any effects and there were some floating sprites.

I'm still getting used to working with the editor, I haven't messed with the wait timers at all yet. I didn't throw in the "Hold It" effects on the first cross-exam since I didn't think it would make sense for Godot to be yelling at his own witness. I'll consider adding those if people think it makes it cleaner.

I'm going to need some help with the sprites though. I'm not great with photo editing software. I'm sure someone here's made a sprite of Wright from the front, if they'd be willing to let me borrow it, that would be the biggest thing. Then again, the idea of Phoenix Wright being nothing but a floating torso made me giggle a little bit.

I'm really curious about what people thought about the writing and the logic flow. Did it make sense? Was it too hard? Too easy?

If you want a front Phoenix sprite, try looking around the art section. I'm fairly sure there are at least two sprite sets you'll be able to use.

Diego has a whole set of Phoenix Front-View sprites in his Art Thread, but you'll probably need permission first.

The trial's pretty good. No grammar or spelling mistakes as far as my Grammar Nazi senses could see :P Except, "your honor" should be capitalized. The cross-examination is well-constructed, as said above.
Only thing that really bothers me is Phoenix saying "Diego," and there's at least one instance where Godot says Wright instead of Trite. Also, Phoenix is a little too competent, though I'm not sure if this is intentional. All the technical details, Henke's already mentioned

Yeah, I'd almost forgotten about the "Diego" thing. When I wrote that part I hadn't really decided when this trial was taking place, so I didn't know if Phoenix should know Godot's identity or not. (It doesn't help that I haven't exactly finished playing PWAA 3 yet so I'm fuzzy on the details of how Phoenix actually learns his identity, maybe I should get on that if I want to keep making trials featuring Godot.) I'll probably correct that since as the trial goes on Godot's and Phoenix's attitudes toward each other pretty much reflect their attitudes toward each other during PWAA 3.

I'm actually kinda tickled that you noticed Phoenix seems a little too competent. My brother (who is the person who introduced me to the AA series and is pretty knowledgeable about it) made that comment as well. I sorta realized I was making him a little too good for his character, but I need him to be good enough to make the trial challenging.

I've started on part two but I like the way this has turned out enough that I want to spend some time cleaning it up. I found BuddyFaithAKADiego's Phoenix frontal sprites in the art section. He said at the beginning of his post that permission isn't necessary as long as he's credited. I'll probably send him a message letting him know I'm using them as a courtesy though.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

Alright folks, based on the feedback I've received I've done some polishing on this trial and I think it runs pretty smoothly now. Thanks, and please keep giving feedback!
