You ad-libbed Deception?! Convention I can kinda see because of the Deus Ex, but you improv'd Deception? That's awesome.

Yes, that's exactly correct. The purpose of the test is to test whether you have an understanding of the material, not if you've simply memorized it and can regurgitate it. In fact, I'm sure the reason he put the 'trick questions' on the test was in order to see who understood the material and was paying attention and who was simply memorizing facts without taking the time and effort to actually understand them.

Well, not completely of course but quite a few of the testimonies and contradictions - most notable in Deception part 3 - were very spontaneous ideas. Of course I knew in advance how it was supposed to end.
Also, that "Deus Ex" at the ending of convention was something I settled for fairly early. The ending/motive/background might seem as if it came out of the blue, but it's actually tied to the third and fourth case. :side:

I know they're not all that good, but the large sprites were a lot more difficult to work with.

Not that good!? They're brilliant! :D

Update:

I have just slightly reworked the final cross examination of Turnabout at the Convention.
Spoiler : :
Instead of presenting the evidence directly, you now get to press for additional statements - a total of 3, that are interchangeable.
The contradiction remains the same.

Also, I've added a short flavor text to the opening post for cases 1-3.

And another sprite update.

Someone's getting ready for his appearance as co-council! :D
This is probably one of my most extensive edits to date, and I do like how it turned out (except maybe the arms, but they'll do)

What remains are the actual co-council sprites (those from the side), some minor spriting for evidence and the intro and then I'll be able to start the actual work on The failed Turnabout.

Wow! That's perfect! And I wouldn't worry about the arms, if I were you; they're fine. ;)

And a new batch of sprites!

Whew, the co-council ones were really tough, but I do like how they turned out all in all. :D

Now, all I need to finish are two more poses for co-council (which luckily only need the head to be edited - though that's actually the most tricky part) and once I've done this, I will immediately start work on case 3! :D

And the final sprites are done!

All spriting required for "The Failed Turnabout" is completed. From this point forward I will actively work on the case itself!

Have you done, or are you going to do a sweating/damage emotion for James? :)

I was struggling with those for a good while before I decided that I could do without them - the available base sprites don't offer something that looks decent when put together, and I want to avoid doing things from scratch as much as I can.
However, should I see that I'll absolutely need them for the coming case to look good, I'll probably see if I can put something together.
For now, I want to see if I can do without.

Hey everybody, just wanted to inform you that progress on Part 1 of "The failed Turnabout" is going steadily and it's nearing completion. Only need to do the final (and fourth) cross examination.

In the meanwhile, I thought I'd give you a little teaser image. Enjoy!

What the...?! This is blasphemy! How could you do this, Narokh!

A co-council that isn't an underaged girl? What is the AA fandom coming to?! I mean, a pedophile main character is awesome, but a homosexual...? I WILL NOT STAND FOR IT.

...Unless... that actually IS still a teenage girl. In which case it's even worse.

Here, have this while you cool down!

Lmao, "Spicious"...

By the way, how are you going to accommodate for (What I can only assume) a certain returning prosecutor? He's only got, like, two emotes that really work on the bench.

He even has a daughter named Sue! *gets heavy object thrown at head for horrible pun*
Also, the prosecutor is not who you think it is, so the sprite/pose problem isn't really an issue. :)
