Mika immediately rolled over, narrowly avoiding being crushed. "Oh, come on, be reasonable! I don't even know why you even attacked us!"
He quickly slipped out of range and stood up again. "Goodness me, why won't listen to reason!" he shouted, willing to stop the creature from attacking. "Listen! We know your weak point. If you continue to attack, we will attack it. Your next decides your fate!" shouted Mika. He really didn't want to kill the creature, but if it was the only option, due to it's obvious ignorance...

Jayneway was stopped in her tracks by guards, or mooks for use of a generic term. She half-smiled. "Well, I'd like to have a word with the leader around here. It's regarding a giant starship that was here sometime ago." she told them, unsure of what they'd make of it, and unsure of what would happen. Hell, she wasn't sure if it WAS the Defiant there before her. She simply relied on hope.

Well, I need to post as Alexis and Kenneth... Kenneth post first then.
I watched the assassin repair my dagger... the thought of being able to do such a thing was rather great. Anyone with that kind of ability would be able to earn a lot of Sone rather quickly... still, the assassin clearly wasn't interested in that. Or, if she was, it clearly wasn't her main objective... I still wasn't sure what drove her to try and attack me, but I was sure that I had never met her before, so it couldn't be a grudge. She had stopped attacking me as well, and she didn't seem to be interested in money... that eliminated the possibility that she was paid to kill me. I strongly doubted that asking her would yield an actual answer... or if I did get one, it would likely be a lie, or half-truth.
I retrieved my daggers as soon as the assassin was done... I examined both of them closely. The assassin had repaired my dagger well... it was almost surreal to think that such a power existed, but I didn't doubt it. The world was a rather cruel, strange place after all. I decided to speak up again... having to serve someone was rather strange, but I suppose it was better I get used to it if I was going to join Darath.
"Thank you mistress... in any case, how are we getting to Sabolin?" I decided to ask. I could have asked many questions, but the way that we were going to get to Sabolin was something that had been bothering me... the assassin didn't seem like someone who would go on a boat where there were people everywhere.
Spoiler : :
And... Alexis post now.
I listened to king Thereme's words carefully. This mission sounded vital to Darath... I was to retrieve an ancient relic then. There was also apparently a beast of some kind guarding the relic... this would likely prove troublesome, but I am confident in my skill with the blade. I had twenty men under me as well, so I was confident in my ability to succeed in this mission. Still, being overconfident often led to a quick death, so I would be sure to remain cautious. If King Thereme was sending so many soldiers along with me, it was obvious how important this relic was.
"Understood your majesty. I do have a few questions. First of all... how are the twenty soldiers and I going to get to the cave? Secondly, where shall I stay for the night? Is there an inn that you'd recommend perhaps? Finally, I am wondering if you know of any good training locations. I must always strive to further improve my swordsmanship." I said. So... this was it. The start of a hero's journey... it was truly a strange feeling. I suppose a lot of people felt that way when they had a great task to accomplish, yet the feeling was rather difficult to describe. I felt happy in a way... yet I knew that I would be seeing more battle soon. I had already been through battle before, and it was never happy.
I then thought about something in particular King Thereme said. This artifact would be used to protect Darath in case of invasion... this truly made me wonder how powerful the artifact is. The way it was described, it seemed as though the artifact would be essential in the upcoming war... I pondered that last thought for a moment. My mind was set in stone... there was going to be a war soon, everyone thought that, and I was no exception. When keeping this artifact in mind... I had to wonder how great this war would be. Wars changed nations... yet something told me that this war would change the world. I would do my best to play my part as a loyal paladin in the upcoming war. Many battles were likely coming soon... yet beyond that, I knew there was a light. If the world was going to change, it would be a positive change. On my honor as a Lockswell and a paladin, I swear it.
Aaron roared and swept at the air where the spikes flew at him. Most were shattered, but some of them lodged in his arm. He roared yet again, a furious sound.
He turned his attention back to the official-looking one. He laughed, an ominous sound. "You... You really don't know, do you? Nobody could do this well at playing dumb. Well, if you want to know so badly, then why don't you ask the one who put all of your lives at risk by coming here?" He pointed straight at Darken.
"He must die. If you get out of my way now and allow me to fulfill my role, I will spare your life. If you resist, I will not hesitate to kill you all. You will get no information out of me." ~~~~~
The guards looked at each other for a moment with a slightly surprised look on their faces. They then turned back to this strange woman before them.
"A... starship, you say? You mean, like an airship...? Come with us, please. We will arrange a meeting for you." ~~~~~
Thereme listened to these questions. He nodded as she finished. "In answer to your first question, you will be travelling by wagon to your destination. It is approximately a day and a half journey, and I hesitate to use our mages' limited energy over such a short journey. Every drop is needed for rebuilding, since the sooner we rebuild the safer we will be in the long run. I can supply you with six wagons, coupled with all the horses necessary for the journey. Will that be sufficient?
"In answer to your second question, I will have my soldiers fetch a charm for you. The charm contains a seal on it that will grant you free access to any inn in Darath, if you show it at the entrance. As for training... I am afraid I am not too knowledgeable about such things. You would have to converse with the soldiers about that, as many of them have their own training regimens. Perhaps you ought to have a word with Commander Grylon. I am appointing you captain, so he is your direct superior. I doubt he'll have any problems helping you."
He stood and walked over to the window, where one could perfectly see the sun slowly beginning to set over the ocean. "It is getting late. There is an inn nearby, though I'm not certain of its exact location. Ask some of the soldiers outside. You will have tomorrow to organize your men and prepare, and you are to depart the following day. Is there anything else you wish to ask?"

Mika tutted. He could easily let Darken take care of the creature... But he wasn't keen on leaving someone potentially to die. He rubbed his hand through his hair. Choices, choices...
Then he made up his mind. Without any witty remarks or any words at all, he fired a long orange energy beam directly towards the creature's "heart".
"You don't get it, do you! You just don't get it!!" he shouted, enraged, upgrading the beam to a harsher, moderate-KILL setting. "You two, target its heart!" he told Salfira and Darken.

Jayneway was pleasently surprised. "Very well... take me to your leader." she smiled.

Aaron was sure the man would take his offer. He thought for a moment. Aaron was confident that he would step out. He began to try to dig himself out of the hole in the ground.
And then, without a word, his chest exploded with pain. He was caught completely off guard. The man shouted something, but his head was spinning so badly he didn't hear.
He heard him shout at the others to aim for his heart. "So..." he said, slowly at first as his vision returned, and then he continued more threateningly: "You've made your choice. Very well. Let us fight then."
And then, at last, he took off out of the crack in the ground, flew into the air. He then dove again, but instead of straight down he went at an angle, so as to swipe at the little beings. He went for the one with the gun first. ~~~~~
The soldiers escorting the woman, one in front of her and one in back, turned through a few hallways. Two guards stood at the entry to a hallway. The soldiers escorting Jayneway whispered a few words to the soldiers, who nodded and stood aside. They walked forward, turned a corner, and began to descend the flight of stairs that greeted them.
Spoiler : :
Just in case my description isn't clear enough, they clearly aren't heading for any sort of throne room or anything like that...

Darken muttered something under his breath as he rested his forehead in the palm of his hand. "Kill it! No, don't kill it! We need information! Oh, wait... Uh, yeah, kill it. You just can't seem to hold down a thought, can you?"
Darken slammed his blade back into its scabbard, blowing hot air out of his nostrils, the air steaming in the cold weather. "And then you shoot the damn thing and let it get back out of my reach. I just can't catch a break with you people, can I?" Sitting on the ground, Darken crossed his legs and stared angrily at the dragon soaring through the sky. Muttering some unintelligible swears, he began drumming his fingers angrily on his knee. "It took damn near forever just for it to get down the first time. And when I'm finally ready to take it out, you frickin' shoot me. And then I try again and, lo and behold, you shoot me again. And then you shoot the dragon anyways. And you dare to think of me as a villain when you start taking all the fun I could possibly have out of a good fight?"

Mika dived out of the way of the creature, firing repetitive bursts of energy at the creature's heart. But then he overheard Darken complaining. Mika stopped his assault, and walked to him. "You know what, I was trying to prevent a direct slaughter of yourself. I wasn't even trying to kill it. But if all you're going to do is cross your legs and complain, then you deserve to die. The Prime Directive says that I shouldn't become involved in affairs like this. I think I'll listen to it for once." he spoke, calmly.
"Good luck with taking it out." he smiled sarcastically, before turning around and heading back the direction of the Defiant.

...You're going to be running through the whirlwind? And did Mika just have a face heel turn?
Anyway, now that things are getting more interesting here, I'll introduce my next character. I'm probably going to have her move up to Jopo as originally planned. Though I'm still considering having them join forces. Considering the characters, Salfira and Roxciel would probably join forces; but I don't really want such a thing to happen, I'll probably think of something to avert that.
Spoiler : :
Username: Stealthfire
Character name: Roxciel Artefielle (Ro.see.ale Art.feel)
Appearance: A relatively short girl, slightly over 150cm tall. Looks to be in her mid-teens. Unlike Salfira, she looks full of vitality and is much healthier and fitter than him. Has blue eyes and golden blond hair. Her hair goes to her shoulders. It is somewhat spiky and the fringe is held up with 2 plain, yellow colored hair clips on the left side. Outwardly acts hyper and happy while in reality she actually feels quite lonely. She wears a brown double breasted trenchcoat over a shirt and skirt. She also wears boots like Salfira.
The trenchcoat is made of a thick, linty fabric which is brown in color. It is double breasted with five rows of two buttons each. It has cuff straps on the ends of each sleeve and a belt made of cloth at the waist level. It goes down to slightly above her knees. It has a simple design with notched lapels. There are two small pockets are below the belt, angled slightly so the hands can be placed in the pockets easily. The interior also has 2 pockets on each made of the same fabric the coat is made of. The coat is usually worn with all buttons buttoned, and only a small portion of Roxciel's shirt can be seen between the lapels. Her shirt is a plain dark grey turtleneck shirt. The coat is long sleeved while the shirt is short sleeved. The coat is also indestructible like Salfira's. In fact, Salfira had enchanted her coat to make it indestructible, but the coat was not enchanted to allow it to contain more items than it has space for.
Her skirt is a blue pleated skirt that reaches down to her knees, ending a few centimeters below the trench coat. It has a pocket on each side. It is similar to the Japanese sailor school uniform skirt. Her boots are made of leather with several crisscrossing straps. Each boot is reinforced by a metal frame on the exterior. The boots are high cut and end slightly above the ankles. Her socks are pulled slightly above the boots.
She also carries a rectangular sling bag which is slung over her right shoulder. The bag is dark brown and relatively large. It is made of a thick, sturdy cloth giving it a rigid structure. The flap for opening the bag is held down by two magical metal clasps, preventing anybody from opening it except Roxciel. The interior has two compartments, one on the front and one on the back. The back compartment is the main compartment and takes up majority of the volume of the bag. The front compartment is simply a slip pocket, however it has been enchanted to allow it to contain an infinite amount of items. The back compartment has an additional flap covering it and is locked by a further 5 magical clasps as well as 3 padlocks, 2 are magical in nature while one is a mechanical lock. The flap for the back compartment completely seals it. Inside the back compartment is a single hardcover book which fills up almost the entire space available. It is almost never taken out, so there is hardly anyone who knows what the book contains. In the front compartment are mainly books, grimoires and other magical texts. On the strap, there is a badge with a green ⑨ on it. Like the coat, the bag is indestructible.
Abilities: An excellent magician in many fields of magic, easily surpassing Salfira in terms of capability and knowledge of magic. Roxciel has knowledge of almost all elements and forms of conventional magic and can use most proficiently. A notable difference between her magic abilities and Salfira's, other than simply being more powerful and having a wider repertoire of spells, is that she is proficient at healing magic.
Roxciel is also able to manipulate matter like Salfira. However, she has a much larger magic capacity and is able to manipulate matter faster and on a larger scale than Salfira. An additional ability which she has is the ability to annihilate matter and completely convert the mass of annihilated matter into energy. This allows for extremely destructive results from her magic, she can effectively level an entire city in seconds with the large amount of energy produced. Alternatively, she can void and completely remove matter from existence. While this would not cause an explosive discharge of energy, it is actually a stronger form of magic as it simply removes objects from existence, violating laws of reality in doing so.
Despite her massive magical powers, her main weapon in combat are guns that she keeps in the interior pockets of her coat. However, she would still occasionally use her magic for support when needed in battle. She holds the guns in an unconventional way, with a finger on the gun frame pointing forwards and using the middle finger to pull the trigger. She wields a large and heavy single action revolver on the left hand. The gun is somewhat boxy and has an overall length about 28cm. The grip is also straight. It is silver in color with gold lining the edges and an engraving on the lower left side of the barrel which reads "The lost years are forgotten in the endless time" in a small and neat font. The revolving cylinder holds 8 bullets and spins clockwise from point of view of the shooter. It can be swung out to the left or right for reloading. The gun design also allows the chambers to the immediate left and right of the chamber facing the barrel be reloaded without removing the revolving cylinder like in a fixed cylinder gun. The revolving cylinder has a guard around it on the lower half so Roxciel's finger won't be caught when the revolving cylinder turns. The revolver uses bullets similar to modern day hollow-point bullets, but the tip is filled with a jewel charged with magical energy rather than actually being hollow. These magic infused jewels can allow for a variety of effects, from exploding and unleashing magic energy to cast spells. The bullets are of a large caliber, 13mm, making them already heavy hitting without spells. The propellant consists of several different types of explosives, creating a fine whiteish smoke when the bullet is fired. The revolver works completely mechanically. The large recoil makes the gun hard to control and slow to fire repeatedly. Roxciel generally pauses for a few seconds between shots. On her right hand, Roxciel wields a handgun with a design similar to M1911 but with a much longer barrel and corresponding slide and frame, resulting in an overall length of 30cm. It is black in colour with a engraving of the statement "Alea iacta est, memento mori" and subtitled "~Capax Infiniti~" on the right, the engravings filled with gold and written in a highly cursive manner, making the words almost illegible. The gun is powered by a combination of Roxciel's magic and machinery. This gives it automatic rapid fire capability of 200 rounds per minute, significantly eclipsing the firepower of most guns of the period which fire extremely slowly. Without being powered by magic, the gun would not fire after the first shot. Roxciel can reload the gun by use of magic, effectively allowing it to shoot infinitely. It uses similar bullets to the revolver except with a smaller caliber of 11.5mm and a propellant of magic energy, which no longer produces the white smoke. The recoil of the gun when fired normally would make it completely uncontrollable, even with two hands. Thus Roxciel uses magic to reduce recoil of the gun. Unlike the revolver, the gun is surprisingly light.
In melee combat, Roxciel is weak. At very short range, she is somewhat agile. However, she much slower at moving larger distances. Her most common attack would be to attempt to whack the opponent with her guns, using the grip at very short range and the frame around the barrel at further distances. While often painful, the attack usually does not cause significant damage.
Like Salfira, Roxciel is also immortal. However, she does not suffer from her body deteriorating and has slightly improved healing abilities as compared to a normal human. For example, an injury that would normally take a year to heal would take Roxciel several months instead, not counting that she could probably heal herself with magic.
Nation: Yalara (not a citizen)
Backstory: Roxciel originally came from Alia. She is the 1st Annihilator of the Circle of nine. After Alia was ruined, she stayed in her house in Alia after repairing it. She kept herself in the house reading books and carrying out research on magic, only leaving the house rarely when she needed to obtain information outdoors. Her brother, Salfira, never returned to their home after the destruction of Alia. The second time she left the house, Roxciel learned that several new nations were created. Thus, Roxciel began her travels, she alternated between the different nations, settling down in each nation for a period of time before traveling to another, occasionally returning home to upkeep the house and switching out books in her bag for those in her house. While in a nation, she stayed in inns, doing random jobs which often use magic to finance her stay in the inns. She had met Salfira in Fellum while he was the advisor to the king. While Salfira decided to stay in Fellum, Roxciel decided to continue her travels. Currently, she has been living in Yalara for close to a decade. She leads a ordinary life with nothing particularly special about it other than her traveling.
Other Information (optional): Roxciel was given her coat and bag from Salfira before the Alia's ruin. However, while he can open the clasps on the exterior of the bag, he can't open the clasps and locks on the back compartment. The handgun was created by Salfira and then later modified by Roxciel just before starting on her travels while the revolver was made entirely by Roxciel. The handgun was repeatedly modified during her travels resulting in its current firepower. She loves to read and will not budge when she is reading a book. If forced to move, she would walk while reading. Attempting to take the book away is a bad idea. The front compartment of her bag holds hundreds of books. Thus, Salfira nicknames her "The Librarian". Roxciel and Salfira are actually twins (fraternal) although Salfira looks much older than her.
I did forget about the whirlwind. D: But nah. Mika's still a Lawful Good, but he just got pissed off, and no longer sees the point of defending an enemy if they're just going to continue arguing. And he's going by regulations...
EDIT: Actually, I think this can be used to downgrade Mika to Neutral Good actually, after a quick readthrough.

By the way, there haven't been many people adding to the tropes page recently. That makes me very sad. Also I had a dream last night that had Minoru, Ewyn, Exa, Christoph and Sympho in it... dontcha wish you had dreams like mine?
Exa lowered her arms again and listened to what Kenneth had to say. She was expecting him to ask about bandages again but instead he asked about how they would go about travelling to Sabolin. He didn't look to be in much pain, so that could have been why. Perhaps his makeshift bandage was better than he had initially thought. Nevertheless, the question was an apt one. Exa had come up with a plan for getting to Sabolin and it was only standard procedure to tell Kenneth what that plan was.
"We're taking a boat" Exa replied "I've got plenty of money so we don't need to steal one. I will need to go kill someone though, so if you have no more questions, then we need to go outside and find some woman".
I will finally make my post! I couldn't find the post where Jayneway leaves so it might not make much sense at first, but my post isn't going to focus around that. So sit back and enjoy my first minoru post in 3 months!
"Sir! Jayneway has left the premises!" shouted the soldier. "you don't have to be so loud!" I complained "where is she going?" "it looks like she's headed toward sabolin." the soldier replied in a softer tone. sabolin? I thought So you've decided to find things out yourself, huh? "are we going to go after her, sir?" said the soldier. "No, not yet." I said "we still need some special forces" "and what would that be?" I thought about that for a moment and then came with an answer: "I don't know." The soldier fell off his chair. "You mean... You don't have a plan..." said the soldier half way concerned, half way annoyed "I like doing stuff on the go" I replied "please land the ebon hawk at the nearest landing, we are going to jeru." "Sir, yes sir!" And just like that we were on our new adventure...

Sorry this is so short, I can only do so much on an iPad. I will make a continuation of this post later.

Alrighty then, I need to post as Kenneth and Alexis again... hm, I miss posting as Ewyn. Cloud Cuckoo Landers are fun to post as, and Ewyn is my favorite character to post as. In any case, I'll post as Alexis first.
"I have no more questions." I said when king Thereme finished answering... we were going by wagon then. I took note of one thing in particular... it was indeed getting late. A quick look out the window showed that the sun was setting... I suppose I needed to make preparations quickly. Something did bother me however... I had to wonder what the other soldiers would think of me. I had achieved my rank because of my family name, and hadn't shown my abilities in battle yet... this mission would be a fine opportunity then. If I could prove myself as a capable leader, then the other soldiers would know that I am worthy of my rank.
"Very well. My guards will supply you with the charm and escort you out." Thereme said, and then gestured towards a few guards to open the door. One of the guards handed me a charm... so, this would allow me to stay at an inn at no cost. I followed a few of the guards... I suppose I would find the inn first. I needed to make a reservation, and then perhaps try to find somewhere to train or talk to a few of my fellow captains... king Thereme mentioned Commander Grylon. The name struck me as familiar... then again, he was a commander, so it would be stranger if I hadn't heard of him. At any rate, I had apparently been so lost in my thoughts that soon the walls of the castle were gone. I took a look around... I was outside now. I heard someone clear their throat, and I turned to find one of the guards handing me something.
"Well, that's about as far as we were told to escort you... at any rate, take this. It's a map of Sabolin... a bit rough, but it's accurate. There should be an inn nearby... don't remember what it was called though." The guard told me, and along with the other guards headed back inside the castle. I took a look at the map... it was rather rough, but it would serve its purpose. A quick look at the map told me that there was indeed an inn nearby... it would be best to head there first before doing anything else. Still, I had noticed that I had not taken the chance to take a look around Sabolin... even though there were still repairs being made, it was certainly a great and beautiful city.
I took a deep breath... I was going to reside here from now on. I had given little thought to that actually... my mind was far too preoccupied with enlisting in Darath, but now that I thought about it... I had only one regret. I had been trying to keep it out of my mind, but I would miss my grandfather... he had trained and raised me since my parents had died. He also had an illness, so perhaps he would die? No, that wasn't likely... he had survived for very long... still, I would make sure to restore honor to the Lockswell family name quickly... just in case the worst occurs. It wouldn't occur of course, but... still.
I followed the map to the nearest inn, and I quickly found an inn... it seemed like a fine inn at any rate. At the very least, it was completely repaired. I opened the door, and entered. The inn was rather simply decorated, no doubt because repairs were still going on, but it was still better decorated than most. There was a desk, and on the other side was a middle-aged man. He looked rather tired... which was understandable, considering that the sun was setting. He soon took notice of me however, and began to speak.
"Oh... uh, welcome to the Red Moon Inn, it's-wait... is that what I think it is?" The innkeeper said. In the middle of his sentence, I had taken out the charm that I had been given... the seal would allow me to stay here for a night. I handed it over to the innkeeper, and he took a close look at it. With a look of understanding, the innkeeper handed the charm back, as well as a key. "Your room's on the fourth floor, second room to the left. You can go up there right now if you want, or later. I'd prefer it if you didn't show up late at night of course... that's always troublesome." The innkeeper told me, yawning. I nodded, and headed back outside. I suppose right now it was best to meet with The Commander, or meet the troops that I was going to lead. Still, it was unlikely that they would organize the soldiers so quickly, so for a short while I took a walk around Sabolin. It would be best to get acquainted with the layout of the city after all. While I walked, there was one thing in particular I had noticed. There was one visible emotion on the faces of most people... sadness? No, it was more of a solemn look... I suppose that was natural. A war had little to be happy about I suppose.
After walking around for a short while, I decided to head back to the castle. I had walked past a courtyard while I was in there... I would guess that was where the soldiers were located. As it turned out, my guess was correct. In the castle courtyard, a score of soldiers was gathered. I walked up to what appeared to be the leader of them... actually, I suppose I was the leader now, but I walked up to someone who seemed to be more experienced at any rate. He cleared his throat, and whispered something to the other soldiers. Soon, all of the soldiers turned to face me... I suppose they were waiting for me to speak. I had to wonder how much they knew... oh well, this was a time to prove myself as a leader.
"Alright soldiers, my name is Alexis Lockswell. You may have heard of my family name... and some of you may even think that I became a captain so quickly because of it. However, on this mission I shall prove my worth to all of you as a leader. You have my word on that. Now then, our mission is to retrieve an ancient relic from a cave on the border of Fellum and Darath. We shall be riding by wagon there, and it should be a day and a half trip. There is apparently a beast of some kind guarding this relic, so all of you had best be prepared. For the future of Darath and the world, we shall succeed!" I said, and was greeted with the soldiers raising their weapons to air and yelling "For Darath!". This was good... at least, it seemed as though I had earned the chance to prove myself to the soldiers. "I expect all of you to be hear by tomorrow morning. Dismissed." I said, and the soldiers soon dispersed. I took a deep breath... that was more stressful than I thought it would be, but I would grow used to it I suppose. For now, I took a deep breath and closed my eyes... this was a hero's work.

Well, I need to leave soon, but making a quick Kenneth post. And I mean really quick.
So we were taking a boat after all... but what interested me more was what the assassin said next. We were going to kill some woman now? This made me reconsider why she may have tried to kill me... it sounded more like the assassin was killing for little to no reason now. That, or she had some kind of hidden reason that likely involved some traumatic event from her past. That, or I was relying too much on folk tales I had heard of. In any case, I didn't care. I would help her if need be, as long as she didn't turn on me. If she did, I would make sure that I would walk away with her blood on my hands... still, I doubted she'd turn on me... at least not so soon.
"Very well. Lead the way." I responded. It was then that I noticed that I was still bleeding... my makeshift bandage wasn't going to last forever, yet I had something forgotten. I quickly felt my arm... I could still feel the pain, so I still had control of it. "Ah... hm. I'll need to see a healer about that. No matter, I've survived from worse injuries in the past. Lead the way." I then said.
