Ehh, i dunno. I don't think his default pose is the correct base for a zoom sprite. Usually it's either desk slam or objection (or even confident).

I will create here a list of zoom sprites. (Not sure I have all of them here, it's based on memory)
Phoenix - Determined (Hand on desk) Edgeworth - Determined (Hand on desk, Determined in both AAI games) Franziska - Determined (Whip up pose) Mia - Determined (Hand on desk pose) Godot - Determined (Hand on desk) Apollo - Determined (Hand on desk) Klavier - Confident (Pounding gallery's wall) Shi-Long Lang - Confident (On Court-Records is determined... No idea why. I would swear his zoom was smiling then.) Gregory Edgeworth - Determined Manfred von Karma - Confident
So it's either determined or confident. All of them usually should look at the opponent. But Payne don't have hand on desk pose, his confident sprite without hand looks like he's watching the floor, with it, sprite looks strange (have you ever seen zoom sprite with hand on it?), and I'm not going to put on zoom sweating or damage animation of him. So I decided to put default pose which looks more like "determined".

Yeah, I found it a moment ago But they're a little different so I'll stay with my version. But credit for original idea is for Mick

Oh, well, I removed all of them today xd I'm going to re-organise them. But if you wish to use those that you remember they were here, just tell me.

I'm not publicizing too much since I'm trying to clean up my Dropbox folder, but I made new sprite that just forced me to publicize, so I uploaded them to my photobucket. Thanks to ksunwoo7, Mick and Crivtox for parts of their pointing sprites. Without them, this wouldn't be created

There are some black pixels scattered around the line connecting Edgeworth's arm to his shoulder. Other than that, it looks great.

I'd say use the second animation if you want it to be closer to the original sideways-facing version.

I have to agree with them, the second row is better, mostly because the shading don't have as much contrast like the third one does. It matches the original more too.
