This competition requires a higher level understanding of writing conventions, as well as a high level of skill in executing the major winning twist in a trial, wouldn't you say, BP and Ping'?
You might be underestimating the level of quality that is required to even place 4th in this competition, Gav.

Well, let him enter and see what kind of trials people make. He will learn.

You might be underestimating the level of quality that is required to even place 4th in this competition, Gav. How good your trial needs to be depends entirely on the other entrants Also, as Frenchy said, it would be quite difficult to throw in a twist to make it work with the theme. But, if you start with a twist in mind, and build out the other details of the case from there... I imagine it would make it a lot easier

@mAc, Oh, he'll learn alright. I'm just giving him a fair warning of what might come, since he severely underestimated the last competition by doing a broken comedy in one week that was universally panned.
You know what, BP, enter me in. I've got a trial planned for this competition. My creative juices are flowing like the roaring Niagra Falls. Though don't expect progress reports since I'm in college and I've got a lot of schoolwork to do this semester.

Well, I'll be done a lot earlier than that since mine's just a quick comedy. Definitely won't win if any serious entrants get in, but I think the twist's funny...

The purpose of the test is to test whether you have an understanding of the material, not if you've simply memorized it and can regurgitate it. In fact, I'm sure the reason he put the 'trick questions' on the test was in order to see who understood the material and was paying attention and who was simply memorizing facts without taking the time and effort to actually understand them.

This is certainly getting interesting =) That list is looking more and more appetizing.
And BB, just because it's a comedy doesn't automatically disqualify your trial, your orange in the bathtub trial for instance was a comedy classic.

I didn't get to say it in the other thread, so congratulations, BP and Ping'! You guys deserve it.
Well, I definitely want to pick up the pace on Cloak of Deception, but I think I can squeeze in a last-minute rush time to make an entry. Count me in.

Look, it isn't customary for me to do this, but I have to say it as a good friend. You guys are taking it a bit too far with lilgav. Just because he underestimated his first competition doesn't mean he'll do it again. Yes, his first comedy sucked. (At least I think it's his first one.) But basically calling him an imbecile for it is just taking it too far. Everyone starts somewhere. Even me. So give him a break, please.

No one is calling anyone an imbecile, Ryu. You're reading too much into it. I'm basically saying that if you were to compete in this competition, you better know what the hell you're doing, because this is a hard theme to write for, given the conditions.
If your trial is about "twists" in the simplest sense, no one is going to be impressed, as the winning requirement has to display a high level of understanding for creative writing/writing fiction. If I read the winning requirement correctly, making the most significant twist about the killer or an ending twist would most likely not earn a good reaction from the judges. It has to be somewhere in the middle of the trial where the most shocking twist occurs.
But yeah, let's see if he's got a better start.

C'mon gaiz, chill out. Also, ED, if you're going to do a twist about the killer, then there has to be a confrontation with the real killer after the twist, so it would still be in the 'middle' of the trial The biggest problem with a twist about the killer is that it's hard to do, since AA is so much more about "howdunit" than "whodunit". But if you think you can pull it off, go for it. (Most trials include a 'twist' of some sort, anyway )

Defendant lobby scene is done at 53 frames. It's a serious trial this time. I'll be releasing one vauge part of the dialouge each day. This day: Already fired. It's a sentence from frame 4. CUT: Ya, chill gaiz.

Yeah, I recognize that most trials have their usual twist... I'm guessing that this one is about directing the story to a certain twist above your usual twist... I've got a lot in mind, and I've already claimed three parts to the trial... Another highly experimental case here. (No timed rebuttals this time around. sorry... )
