Dance cheography in general has always amazed me, it's so varied and never gets old, the technique of choreography/dancing in general always seems like its improving too over the years.
I'm not talking about just the certain forms of dancing (capoeira, tango, bhangra, ballet, etc.), even dance moves can be included in this thread
I think if I were to do Capstone, that would be one of my choices of what I can do, instead of the usual dirty dancing with the lady xP
I think it's safe to say who massively popularized just the art of dancing in my opinion, and that's from the near death of the Motown era: Michael Jackson (beginning to be a solo artist ofc):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD9mRHo1CXIStart at 3:28, and you'll see the popularization of one of the most famous moves to be recognized in history: The MoonWalk.
Here's another guy, James Brown, who's known for doing splits and working with his feet like it's nothing.
(And check out 0:14, how does he DANCE while slowly moving backwards? That's crazy!):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGbpucWLfpELet's take another look of dancing, starring JOHN TRAVOLTA!
And this is a scene from Pulp Fiction, one of the most well-known scenes from the movies (the dancing reflecting the 20s-40s), I'm not sure how it's classified other than the fact it's from that time-era:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ik-RsDGPI5YThis is just a small taste of what dancing is, so I'd like to open a question to you guys or two:
1) Is there any specific forms of dancing you like, and
can you post up an example of what you think is an awesome dance scene/move that people can enjoy seeing?2) Do you personally like to dance? I hear some people have a hard time just trying to be in rythm, and what kind of music do you like really dancing to?
OR
3) Is there any lame dance videos that people can just fall over and laugh at? I know there's quite a few videos on youtube that just show horrible dancing at that xP
Personally, I really like any form of dancing that I can do with someone (excluding dirty dancing ofc xP), but I REALLY hate it when I have to dance to rap/top 100 billboard pop songs or the like. It's just absolutely no way you can get in rhythm to them in my opinion, and this is why I prefer dance clubs and such.
Discuss away folks, I'd like this thread to be alive and well after all :p
