Every problem has more than one solution. Not everybody chooses the correct one.
The Alternate Solution is an Alternate Universe game for the world of Hunter Truf: Ace Attorney, BB_deHughes Studios' other project. It combines the world of HT:AA with some of the cast of the abandoned project, Raymond Hope: Ace Prosecutor. Set in a future where the events of HT:AA post the first trial of Case 2 never occurs, The Alternate Solution is a look at what life would be like if the villains got away unpunished. To say anymore would be spoilers for HT:AA, so just know this. In The Alternate Solution, the villains have already won. Criminals walk the streets, and the citizens of Los Angeles live in consent fear that they may not see tomorrow. Lawyers, politicians, police officers, they all try to fix the world, and allow people to go to sleep without fear of not waking up. But are their efforts in vain?
Originally, this series began as a stand-alone case for the Fire & Ice Trial Competition. However, as planning went on, it changed into a complete series. As such Turnabout Inferno, while technically the second case, is the first being produced. This series will stand on its own, and you can play it and enjoy it without knowledge of HT:AA, it isn't out yet so it kind of has to, however references will be made and it is recommended you play the game this is based off of once it is released.
This game will contain story spoilers for Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney and Ace Attorney Investigations. Also, I have agreed that there will be no synopses to be found here. We're stealing Zeel's format, may as well keep everything. As BB just said in skype, Zeel is too good not to plagiarize.
We here love our fans! It does get really hot in the summer, so it's always nice to have something to cool us off! And nothing is more relaxing and cooling than an ice-cold milkshake made by the adoring public who worship the ground we walk on. However, life is not all sunshine and rainbows for you simple peasants. We demand gifts of all shapes and kinds so that we may place them on the fridge of dietyness and go "This would make good litter for my cat."
In reality though, I can safely say we never expected fanart, or fananything really. That means we've made something that is worth other people's time... and that's mind-boggling. It's an absolute honour to see people take time out of their lives in order to make us something, and it's only fair that we share that art with the rest of the world on this front-post. Each person who takes time out of their lives to pimp us out will get pimping in return! Each spoiler tag is for an individual person, and included will the art that they have done, and a little blurb about what they're doing and where you can find out about it.
Spoiler : Nudalman :
Nudal, out of the blue, decided to make us some nice little banners for our cases, and I want to extend a big thank you to him for that. While I prefer what we currently have for Inferno, we will be using his TFT banner when that time comes.
[Removed at Nudal's request. Sorry I derped and forgot to do it until now.]

Or are you implying that you know better than Zeel~?
'Cuz you don't. Of course, that's nothing to be ashamed of.

Yes, that's exactly correct. The purpose of the test is to test whether you have an understanding of the material, not if you've simply memorized it and can regurgitate it. In fact, I'm sure the reason he put the 'trick questions' on the test was in order to see who understood the material and was paying attention and who was simply memorizing facts without taking the time and effort to actually understand them.

Talk to Patches. If you found the icicle the convo that kicks you out and ends the game should be open.
You have to do the first two talks and find the icicle for that conversation to open, though.

Just finished playing the investigation. Now to post my thoughts.
Of course the first thing that comes to mind is the music choices. I loved them, loved them so much I sometimes felt like dancing out of my seat because the themes were just so wonderful. I even started to imagine I was playing football when I Came To Play was playing. Good job on that. Persona-y
Characters: Probably my favorite part of the trial. it's fun to hear each character squall at each other and to see their personalities. Especially Truf, poor dudes head going to explode. Then there was Gynus... and she/he/it and her/his/it's personality really made me feel suspicious of her/him/it. Though that's only because she/he/it is a snitch. Then there was Kenneth, who reminds me a lot of some people I know in real life who just flirt and joke around. Probably my favorite of all characters. No one seemed out of character so hooray for that (Hehe Patches reference :3)
Game-play, for the most part there weren't any glitches aside for maybe a few. Such as a visible time stamp in text or something along those lines. Everything seemed smooth so don't worry too much about it. There were some times where I didn't know what to examine as well as what to present to certain people.
Story: Didn't take me long to get sucked into the story. I didn't understand the prologue but I'm sure it will make sense later. I felt sympathy, anger, sorrow, and humor through the game, and it was fun! I'd write more but I'm too lazy to go through every part that I enjoyed. But in all I loved it and I can't wait for the trial section of the game.
I'm predicting Trial Prior to be out late January to mid February, dunno how much work Truf will feel like doing when he gets back from Christmas stuff, though.
I've done more on this in two and a half months than I have in the past year and a half (granted, I had a lot of help from the best collaborator anybody could ask for) so I'm very confident that this will get done, hopefully in a reasonable timeframe.
Expect... something around Bloodlines length once the whole thing's done, which is 9000~ frames.
Now you know why we didn't get this done in time.

This isn't a pure Investigation case (well the only part that's released is, but there's two trial phases planned), why was it tagged as such >_>

It originally wasn't tagged as anything. I assumed it was a trial, but when I looked at it in the Editor, it was an investigation. I'll change it back.
I even started to imagine I was playing football when I Came To Play was playing.
Heh, glad you like it. That's mainly why I picked it for Portsman, 'cause even though it was initially only associated with a guy that really has little to do with sports, whenever I heard it I couldn't help but think it sounded like the most sports-oriented song I've ever heard. Whenever I listen to it, I swear I see highlights playing in my head...

Just finished playing the investigation. Now to post my thoughts. And time for me to respond.
Of course the first thing that comes to mind is the music choices. I loved them, loved them so much I sometimes felt like dancing out of my seat because the themes were just so wonderful. I even started to imagine I was playing football when I Came To Play was playing. Good job on that. Persona-y Meguro, man. Meguro. He is a God! No, but really, Meguro is basically my go to guy for a lot of stuff. His resume is long, his music is amazing, and close to my heart. He'd definitly be my dream composer if this was ever a legit game. The trial has a lot of non-Meguro music which really hits the mood perfectly, and I'm quite excited to hear what you think of that. Searching for just the right music is something that really takes me a long time.
No one seemed out of character so hooray for that (Hehe Patches reference :3) Always nice to hear my little children are being received well~
Much of the planning that HT:AA has gone under for the last two years closely relates to the characters, and the depths they have buried down. So hearing that all the time I've spend making each unique and well-balanced payed off is very nice to hear. Granted only Hunter, Markus, and Kolbra were shown, and they'll all undergo some pretty major growth in the game it self, but if the basic them is well-liked, it's a good sign.
One thing to note though, WHICH SOMEONE LEFT OUT OF THE OP BECAUSE HE IS A VERY, VERY, VERY SILLY PONY, is that this is an AU trial that takes place 6 years after HT:AA, and everything in HT:AA, except Case 1 and about one quater of Case 2 were not done in this AU. So these characters are pretty much at the starting points of their development still.
One question though. How did the Hunter and Markus relation seem? Did it seem like they were father and son? Was it a convincing relationship? This is something I was really worried about before releasing.
Game-play, for the most part there weren't any glitches aside for maybe a few. Such as a visible time stamp in text or something along those lines. Everything seemed smooth so don't worry too much about it. There were some times where I didn't know what to examine as well as what to present to certain people. Shame you didn't take a list of the errors. Now we'll have to search for them. And by that, I mean wait until someone lists them.
Edited the basement background to make the thing you need to investigate much more noticable.
The prologue is actually I feel is sub-par, and probably gonna be re-written when Trial Prior will be released. Anything you didn't like about it though? Need to know how to improve off my first "good" trial, after all.
