My debut trial here. This is something I started to try and see how this system worked, and ended up finishing.
I should note that this is a recreation of the opening write-up from a Phoenix Wright Mafia Game that I shall soon be modding. If the testimonies seem lacking, it's mainly because of that - the trial was mainly done just to show people how trials would look in-game. But, as it was, it was WAAAAAAAAAY longer than most write-ups to begin with, so it wasn't really in the cards to add much more to the trial.
Having said that, I did add a little more content (such as having to answer a few questions, and an extra piece of evidence that Phoenix didn't have to present in the write-up) for the sake of this trial, but still..just, keep in mind, it's mainly just to set the story.
And yes, I do plan on making this the beginning of a series. If it seems kind of easy, well, it's the first of said series, so it's kinda supposed to be..
The main story arc is that there's a massive prison break that lets loose a number of the most vile murderers ever known - of course, most of which being ones Phoenix has had run-ins with. As the player, you must both catch the escapees, and find the people responsible for the prison break. (And, of course, help those wrongly accused of it!)
For the record, the story is set very soon after the end of Trials and Tribulations, of which their are some spoilers.
Feel free to tell me of any mistakes that I've made. For instance, some things I could use help with - a lot of the time, when I use the skyblue *thinking* text, it runs right through it on the the read-through..if you know what I'm saying. I don't know why. It's only, like, half the time, it does this. I don't change the text speed so..I'm not really sure why it does that.
Gotta say - I had a lot of fun making this, the system was a lot easier to use than I thought it would be.
Spoiler : Walkthrough :
Press on "It was a very nice visit. We spoke for quite a while... I ended up losing track of the time." Press on "I entered the building at around 9:30, and stayed until about 12:20."
Press on "I didn't want to talk about it because... it's, well it's... kind of embarrassing." Press on "Well, you see, I... tend to believe things that are told to me, when they aren't... normal."
Choose "Add book to Court Record"
Present "Broken Shovel"
Present "Book of Mysteries"
Choose "The Location of the treasure"
Present "Crime Report"
Present "Smoke Grenade"

Why thank you, that was the aim. Glad you liked it!

Welcome to the community.
I only played a bit of your trial, but it was interesting. Add timers and music to your prologue.
Er..I did. You don't like Viola's theme?
Probably my favorite sad song in the Wright-verse, that one..by the by, if anyone's confused by the ending..
Spoiler : :
Atmey was shot by a sniper, hence the red light on his forehead. Just in case that didn't get across. I thought about having the narrator give a little epilogue talking about how he had been shot and killed in-court, but decided to save that for the next chapter.

That was exciting. I didn't expect much, but you sure delivered. I am looking forward to the continuation of this.
Glad you liked it, and I thank you for your support! I do have a quite a few ideas for how the story will progress. The next one may take some time though, as I'll need to be using some of the backgrounds from the Edgeworth game, if I want to have people investigate the next crime scene..

I didn't really know if it was good enough, but if you think I've got a shot, I'll try it, thank you.
Understandable. It's glitched for me once or twice as well. For example, when Edgeworth says "Yes..troubling to say the least..", slams his hand on the desk, and completes the merged message with "Today, we aim to find the one responsible for this prison break", every now and then, it would skip the first part, just leaving it to say "YToday, we aim to find the one responsible for this prison break".
I checked it in the script, but I couldn't figure out what the problem was. Seemed fine on the last couple playtests, though..may have just been an issue with the system.

That happens to be sometimes. But you seem to have a better understanding of it, because it rarely happens to me. You should make a topic about it in the bug reports form.

Well, it's only happened to me on like, two playthroughs, out of maybe seven that got to that point, so it wasn't really something that bothered me. If I see it again, or if someone else says they saw it while playing the trial, I might do that, but for right now, it's not really an issue.

My fileden account (that I just registered YESTERDAY) suddenly encountered some weird problem, and won't work, and the original "sniper'd Atmey" custom pic went with it. Re-registered at fileden, and re-uploaded the picture. Should be working again now, but I don't like how easily that broke. No idea what the problem was.
Just, as a note, if that pic doesn't show, blame fileden.

Very nice trial. And yes, once I see an insane option like "plead guilty", I just HAVE to try it. xD
Spoiler : :
Interesting idea with the old villains breaking free.
About the ending...I was like Edgeworth: "STOP BUILDING UP TENSION AND SAY IT ALREADY!!" and then he just gets shot and I'M like "NOOOOO WHY DID YOU HAVE TO BABBLE FOR SO LONG?!?"^^

Can't wait for the next part.
Figured that option would peek some curiosities..
I put that in because I would've rather had three options instead of four there. Figure an easy way to get the same result there is to give one option that everyone knows would NEVER be the right one. Like, on multiple choice tests, when they have a math problem, and one of the answers is "chocolate"..pleading guilty is my chocolate.
Spoiler : :
"You didn't think it would be that easy, did you?!"
"For a minute there..yeah, I kinda did."
Can't just up and spoil who the mastermind of the story is on the first episode, now can I?

Try using Photobucket. It's a more reliable host than Fileden.
Amusingly, I've used Photobucket for years, but recently it stopped working for me.
For some odd reason, I can't seem to use any of the "new" uploaders that seem so popular nowadays. Switching to old works on imageshack and elsewhere, though, so it'll probably work on photobucket as well. I remember switching back once before, can probably still do that.
