I started playing Deception today, and I will say that this is probably one of the BEST trials I've ever played! Great use of custom sprites, too. The only thing that I think that it could improve from is giving the other characters custom sprites and custom music. If you do that, that would make it probably the best I've ever played! Great Job!
Thank you kindly for the praise. It is greatly appreciated. Glad you enjoy Deception so far, and I hope you will think the same about the rest of the series. (The parts that are done anyway)
Yeah, custom sprites for every character is something I'd like to see happen, but personally don't think that it will. The few existing ones took me such a long time, I don't think I would ever get done if I tried to do one for every character. And I won't even try myself with custom music. The original Ace Attorney soundtracks are awesome anyway, so I don't have much of a problem using them.
Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know - once again - that I'm not dead. In fact, despite the recent writer's block and have being cut off from the internet for a week or so, I managed to get back quite a large chunk of motivation (the fact that I've started to play through the Ace Attorney games again probably helped. ) and now my work on 3-2 is making quick progress. In fact, it's actually nearing completion and should be available in the next couple of days. So stay tuned!

It looks like that by pure accident, I got part 2 of the Failed Turnabout finished and ready to be played. Who would have expected that? You can find it in the opening post, or right here!
Feedback and critique are welcome, as well as the reporting of any errors in the trial.
Loved the facefault-moments. So this witness must be why the case is called "The FAILED Turnabout" And at least you were nice enough to actually explain why the photo of the victim doesn't prove anything. (yeah, I tried it the seemingly obvious way first, and Payne actually being able to argue back for once caught me off-guard.)
Interesting ending, the case suddenly turned out to be much more complex. Well I suspected that there was another gun involved the moment it was stated that the rifling marks were unidentifiable... still, who could that person be the victim apparently shot? And why's Nathan involved all of a sudden? Gah, so many questions! The wait for the next part will be painful.
Yeah, I figured it would be awkward to simply give the standard wrong evidence response on that one, so I added that part for the photo. And, the background to this case is actually even more complex. I can tell you as much, that not everything will be resolved by the end of the case. However, you're still in for some surprises! Also, I'll try to make the wait as short as possible. Let's hope that bad old writer's block stays away from me for now.
I was so sure that the gunshot that was heard was thunder! I was surprised to be shot down, although I guess thunder and a gunshot would sound very different, even though they would both be loud. I also wasn't expecting that presenting the photo would result in a counter-objection with an unlikely scenario made possible by the autopsy report.
I don't know why I didn't consider the possibility that there were multiple shootings at all, I did consider the possibility of the timing of the murder being a bit different, given that the park lights were still on when the shooting the guard witnessed happened.

All this hype about this new witness is starting to do a number on my urge to resist...

Yes, that's exactly correct. The purpose of the test is to test whether you have an understanding of the material, not if you've simply memorized it and can regurgitate it. In fact, I'm sure the reason he put the 'trick questions' on the test was in order to see who understood the material and was paying attention and who was simply memorizing facts without taking the time and effort to actually understand them.

Reading this gives me the impression that I did quite a few things right - it would be boring if everything was too obvious early on, would it not?
Uh, sorry for the late relpy . My responses in blue.

The few existing ones took me such a long time, I don't think I would ever get done if I tried to do one for every character. Since most of them are edits, I wouldn't mind giving some of them a try. I really don't have and sprites I need to work on (Sammy = evil). If you would like anything, just PM me I could probably finish a character edit in about a week (read: violetta white 1/2 set, 1 day) And I won't even try myself with custom music. The original Ace Attorney soundtracks are awesome anyway, so I don't have much of a problem using them. Well, for Final Truth, Zim and I are using pre-existing video game music as a soundtrack along with custom sprites. I feel that it gives a new "feel" to the game and makes it seem like it could be a real AA game! That's just our opinion, of course.

screw it I can't take it anymore I MUST know what the big fuss about that one witness is
*boots up*
EDIT: whoamg
Spoiler : :
Tex Johnson
Johnson
JOHNSON
CRUCIAL SERIES LINK IT JUST GOT REAL IN HERE :O :O :O :O :O :O
Oh, and is there a play on "Laura Trodectus", or is it just a random name?
but, you know, it IS pretty off-putting that Tex looks like Neil in the Profiles but he looks like Doug in the Crime Photo. I mean I get why you used Neil for Tex but it's just really, really weird... you should look into getting some custom art for that done.
AND DONE
Spoiler : :
Oh man Victor is hilarious. HE KNOCKED HIMSELF OUT.
So I think I see how the case ends: Surprise third witness delivers irrefutable testimony on Laura's guilt, to tie in with what I only assume to be the true meaning of the case's title. But we'll see.

Yes indeed. And things will get even better in part 3!

Her name is indeed a very meaningful one, though I imagine it's not easy to figure out. Actually, figuring it out too early could be quite the spoiler. The same goes for Mr. Dwerng, by the way!

Yeah, I know. I was thinking about using Doug's profile picture too, but I went with Neil's to uphold the aforementioned series link.

Glad you think so, that's exactly what I was aiming for.

I have to remain silent about this of course. All I can do is to get part 3 done soon.
I just finished the latest part. I think this is my favorite part; I like Tyron and I like how it ties into the criminals of the previous (future) cases. More!
