Just finished 1/6. I was going to wait until I finished the whole thing, but I thought I might as well report on what I think so far.
Spoiler : Notes I made as I went along (far and few between but still) :
- I'm impressed with the dialogue so far. It's very AA-like and well written out.

- The MASON system, eh? Wow, how will this play out?

[insert long period of not playing due to illustration work and a week's holiday]

- Right, we're back! MASON system, right?

- Everything's really well done so far. I wonder how the scripting process happens in AAO?

- Hmm, I've noticed that whenever a new date and location is stated, you don't start the location on a new line after the date.

- Noticed another dialogue flaw soon after, but I'm sure you've been notified hundreds of times already :)

- "Mo -- Lamiroir!" So she knows, eh? (Why do I get the feeling that this has been brought up before and I forgot...?)

- The Talk/Examine/Present/Move menu is in the style of a list? Nothing wrong with it, just find it a little odd. But if it's just an AAO thing, that's fine.

- ""The Guitar's Serenade" was WROTE by the two of us..." Written, not wrote. :P

- Ahh Bellboy, nice to see you again! Nice theme for him too.

- 215? I see what you did there :P (Incidentally, I didn't pick 215 as Nick's room number in Haunted Turnabout, but 202, what I went with, is Kyle Hyde's apartment number in Last Window!)

- "Thinly veiled sexual advances"? Then I'm NOT going crazy xD

- Oh. It was mentioned in the intro about Apollo's mother. I did forget. ._.

- Hickfield Clinic? Oh but of course...

- Haha, I admit the use of the PW:AA "jingle" theme as a news jingle made me smile. xD

- I like how you made Phoenix's internal dialogue like that of his old self. It makes his calm mysterious exterior look like a facade. I like it.

- The Apollo sprites are excellent. I know there was one at the end of AJ and that it's the base for them all, but still.

- Amazing how he can point through a glass pane xD

- Huh? Did the nametag just read Edgeworth for a split second...?

- A flash of green?

- Oh right, it was explained right after. xD

- "A ghost in a hotel? Why does that sound so similar to something I've read recently?" Oh you.

- "Are you afraid of the ghost?" "I am a tad" Is that another reference? Cos it sounds familiar xD

- Wow, I see now how much the crime scene resembles that of Mia's death. Even the box.

- Woah, realistic explosion? A GIF or a video file?

- "Somepony"?

- Rydia's sprites look damn impressive. Do you make the custom characters or does somebody else?

- Mr. Meph? Reference to the user by any chance? xD

- Took me a while to realise that I had to present the Hotel Menu to the Bellboy, as the last thing to do before going to the precinct. xD

- Ooooo, I think I'm going to hate Scarlet... >_>

- Jazzin' theme though.

- "Not-Quite-Wright", eh? ;)

- Chief Prosecutor? Whip? Fraulein? Hmm...

- Kristoph escaped? Wow, this suddenly got a lot more intense!

- Er... so is this still part 1/6? I'm assuming it isn't, but if so it's a very long opening.

- Lol funny I should ask now, seeing as after the next few lines of dialogue, part 2 started! xD

Spoiler : Opinion so far :
So far, this is really impressive! The sprites are excellent (Rydia's in particular, Scarlet's could use a touch of cleaning up though), the dialogue is spot-on in my opinion (which is what I'm really envious about because I always struggle, especially with small talk xD), and overall the story's really intriguing. It started strong, and now Kristoph Gavin's back? That certainly got my attention!

This is a potential masterpiece from what I've seen so far. I'll report back again once I've completed it. :D

Apologies for the delay in replying... My replies are in red. :)

Spoiler : Notes I made as I went along (far and few between but still) :
- I'm impressed with the dialogue so far. It's very AA-like and well written out.
Really? Well... that's quite a compliment! I've never been too keen on my dialogue and characterisations... Thank you very much!

- The MASON system, eh? Wow, how will this play out?
It only serves to differentiate the changing of perspectives in [1/6]... I don't allude to it in any other parts, so...

[insert long period of not playing due to illustration work and a week's holiday]
[Perhaps my failure in not responding quickly serves as my version of your "long period"...]

- Right, we're back! MASON system, right?
See comment above (x2)

- Everything's really well done so far. I wonder how the scripting process happens in AAO?
It's an editor... which isn't very helpful, I would imagine. Why not create a blank trial and test it out?

- Hmm, I've noticed that whenever a new date and location is stated, you don't start the location on a new line after the date.
I do... but AAO has a bug, in part from the current version not being able to centre texts. If the proceed button is clicked too quickly, it ignores how text should be printed as specified in the editor...

- Noticed another dialogue flaw soon after, but I'm sure you've been notified hundreds of times already :)
Most likely, but what dialogue flaw was this?

- "Mo -- Lamiroir!" So she knows, eh? (Why do I get the feeling that this has been brought up before and I forgot...?)
You mention this in a couple of comments, so I'll reply then.

- The Talk/Examine/Present/Move menu is in the style of a list? Nothing wrong with it, just find it a little odd. But if it's just an AAO thing, that's fine.
The upcoming release, version 6, has changed it so the investigative menu is in a style similar to the AA games.

- ""The Guitar's Serenade" was WROTE by the two of us..." Written, not wrote. :P
Oops... Thanks for pointing it out!

- Ahh Bellboy, nice to see you again! Nice theme for him too.
His entrance is particularly ominous, wouldn't you say?
Thanks! His theme is "Chicken Kitchen" from Ghost Trick... I'm glad to say I managed to have a number of players think of JM when they first played Ghost Trick!

- 215? I see what you did there :P (Incidentally, I didn't pick 215 as Nick's room number in Haunted Turnabout, but 202, what I went with, is Kyle Hyde's apartment number in Last Window!)
I might have chosen "202" to fit with the actual room number on the HD background (which reads '102'... ;p) had I known of the actual number beforehand, and played Last Window... ^^

- "Thinly veiled sexual advances"? Then I'm NOT going crazy xD
Oh, you still might be... :awesome:

- Oh. It was mentioned in the intro about Apollo's mother. I did forget. ._.
Yes... =)

- Hickfield Clinic? Oh but of course...
I could go with Hotti Clinic, but... AJ gave us Hickfield Clinic...

- Haha, I admit the use of the PW:AA "jingle" theme as a news jingle made me smile. xD
It returns later on!

- I like how you made Phoenix's internal dialogue like that of his old self. It makes his calm mysterious exterior look like a facade. I like it.
Aha, ha, ha... This wasn't intentional. I'm terrible at writing Hobo!Phoenix's internal thoughts... BBblader and Wolf Speaker helped touch up all the scenes where he was far too reminiscent of his older self. :)

- The Apollo sprites are excellent. I know there was one at the end of AJ and that it's the base for them all, but still.
Thank you! :D

- Amazing how he can point through a glass pane xD
I didn't draw that one sprite, I'm afraid... My attempts turned out terribly. xD

- Huh? Did the nametag just read Edgeworth for a split second...?
It did? ...Whoops. ><

- A flash of green?
- Oh right, it was explained right after. xD
Yeah, I've had a couple of similar comments come in since I added the 'green' flash...

- "A ghost in a hotel? Why does that sound so similar to something I've read recently?" Oh you.
- "Are you afraid of the ghost?" "I am a tad" Is that another reference? Cos it sounds familiar xD
Yes, both of these are! These tie in directly to his mention of working at Maplethorpe Hotel: "Yes, I took a position at the Maplethorpe Hotel for a brief while before I was asked back."

- Wow, I see now how much the crime scene resembles that of Mia's death. Even the box.
The box was unintentional... It was supposed to originally play much more significance in the form of a hidden cavity, revealing Apollo's birth certificate. This idea became obsolete, so...

- Woah, realistic explosion? A GIF or a video file?
A GIF, I'm afraid. Video files aren't directly supported.

- "Somepony"?
Wright enjoys My Little Pony. :P

- Rydia's sprites look damn impressive. Do you make the custom characters or does somebody else?
I try to work on most of the sprites, but my spriting skills are very basic... LawfulMagician was responsible for the Rydia Cypress sprites. She designed a full set back in 2010, based on the character design of Vanille from FFXIII. :)

- Mr. Meph? Reference to the user by any chance? xD
Not at all! :wellington:

- Took me a while to realise that I had to present the Hotel Menu to the Bellboy, as the last thing to do before going to the precinct. xD
Ah, whoops... Maybe I'll try and make it more clear. Then again, you were the one who had us examine a blank wall without giving us any dialogue hints. :XD:

- Ooooo, I think I'm going to hate Scarlet... >_>
You should! :)

- Jazzin' theme though.
I did find something even jazzier, which would suit her just as well as the current theme, but I lost the link a while back...

- "Not-Quite-Wright", eh? ;)
Heh, heh, heh... =)

- Chief Prosecutor? Whip? Fraulein? Hmm...
The original version of MSAT had Franziska pop up. I removed her since that was her only appearance in the game... She's just mentioned, from here on out.

- Kristoph escaped? Wow, this suddenly got a lot more intense!
We hear very little about his escape in the rest of MSAT. It is slightly given attention in Departed, but has greater focus in my final episode, Turnabout Memoirs...

- Er... so is this still part 1/6? I'm assuming it isn't, but if so it's a very long opening.
- Lol funny I should ask now, seeing as after the next few lines of dialogue, part 2 started! xD
All of my case parts are equally as long, except for [3/6] and [4/6], which are slightly shorter...

Spoiler : Opinion so far :

Thank you! Sirens was originally designed as the penultimate case of the series, but after my PyWright episodic failures, Ping' convinced me it would be in my best interest to rework Sirens, which was the case I had the strongest ideas for, into being the first episode. And the overwhelming reception its received has definitely reinforced it was the right decision to do! :)

Spriting isn't my forte, but I am on top of things. Rydia's are complete, so I don't need to worry about hers. Scarlet's sprites are incredibly old, so I take your criticisms on board. She has an improved concept, which someone else is working on turning into a sprite. You'll find Gaines' sprites are the messiest of the all... I've redrawn improved bases, with the original sprite designer working on a set of HD heads, since I'm terrible at changing the angle, which you might remember from a PM a couple of weeks ago. :)

I don't want to spoil the story for you, so I'll keep quiet...

This is a potential masterpiece from what I've seen so far. I'll report back again once I've completed it. :D
I hope you'll enjoy it! :D

I think I know who is it...
It's either Mommy Dearest (Selene) or Edgeworth.
It's still too early for Tradimento to reveal himself, and I don't think it's Asp, because there was no evidence proving he was near the Big Tower when "the murder" occured.

Interesting theories, but one point for you to consider. Selene doesn't actually testify in Departed... Apollo only has encounters with her in the investigative parts. Also, if Tradimento is still alive, how can Departed play out, considering this will be a case equally as long as Sirens? :)

Tradimento obviously is alive. However, that doesn't mean there's no corpse. He anticipated the assassination attempt and sent his body double instead. (as a president, having someone like that ready isn't too far-fetched. They covered it all up to make it seem like it was actually him who died for some reason. So there's still a case to solve, even when/if that's discovered.

The best thing about this theory is that it can't be proven wrong even if it's not brought up in the entire trial. I can still claim he'll show up again in a later case. xD

I watched GK2 and now I have to ask.

Spoiler : Turnabout Target :
Was Arthur Gaines created before or after you played GK2, Tap? I mean, when President Ou came on, ALL I COULD THINK OF was Arthur Gaines. :XD: The attitude, and even the music. While he's in angry buff I'm-flipping-you-off-with-my-Index-finger-because-that's-how-we-do-it-in-Zheng-Fa mode, anyway, they're honestly basically the same character. :P

Ou doesn't scream his own name enough. Also, Gaines is a far better and more enjoyable character, despite all the fanboying he gets at times.

An interesting theory... How would he have anticipated the assassination attempt? Did he tell anyone of his plans for a body double? Where is he hiding? Who is the body double? Does it matter 'Tradimento' is now dead? If not, why? A couple of questions for you to consider...

Y-You're not allowed to make cross-case theories! ><

Gaines was one of the first characters I came up with, back when the series began in late October 2009... He had a remarkably different appearance, though. His character concept design was originally based on one of Shelly De Killer's concepts (elderly man with beard and mustache). He was always going to have a loud, booming voice, which of course, was then became a slight parody and homage to Titus Krump. Still, when I was writing him in Sunset for his first appearance, I had just finished GK2... So yes, he does share many similarities with Ō. :)

You don't like the Gaines fanboying...? :(

Okay, so Tap just told me something about Departed.

And I can safely say, hold on to your suspenders, because this is going to be one HELL of a trial phase.

And no. Not telling. Don't pry. Zip zip. Shush shush. Soooo don't try. I've been trained to withstand torture.
