Episode 1 - Mysterious Sirens and Turnabouts has been taken down for the completion of the long-time planned revamps... if all goes to plan, it shouldn't take any longer than... the deadline that I have planned. Don't worry, however, as I'll make sure MSAT is back as soon as possible... These revamps are necessary in order to make the game much more enjoyable.
Once these revamps are complete, the only thing left to be adding in will be new sprites whenever they're ready.

Ah, okay. That makes sense. You have GOT to play this as soon as the link's back up, though. It's one of my favorite trials on AAO and it's absolutely amazing.

Lind: Ah, I apologise for the inconvenience... the revamps to MSAT have been coming for a long time -- since August 2011, but I've never really buckled down and tackled them, besides combining two investigation parts together and a bit of dialogue work...
I assure you the revamps will be well worth the wait. Some of what is in progress is:
Characterisation: Old!MSAT features Lawyer!Phoenix in the investigations rather than Hobo... it's a hard task writing him in the JM environment -- we only see his thoughts as Hobo in a couple of small scenes, not enough to develop a full case! ><
Changes to plot: While Trial ~ Conclusion was meant to be revamped with how you reveal the killer, I'm pretty satisfied with most of it, but I'll be going back to Investigation ~ Night to tie up some loose ends and add a bit more information. Plus a couple of new elements!
Changes to testimony: Trial Day 1 is incredibly old and needs a great deal of work on making testimonies easier.
I hope to have it out as soon as possible!

As for Hall's "Confession"... Who's to say she actually meant any of it... For all we know, the whole thing was a surgical strike aimed at Apollo. Simply put, with Hall found innocent, people will STRONGLY suspect Apollo of Matricide once more.
Also, I'm sure a loophole in Double Jeopardy can be found, if you look hard enough... Because the uniform was stricken from the record, Hall DOES have the right to ask for a retrial, since, technically, the "Not Guilty" verdict was found based on illegal evidence... Maybe that's why she's so smug: Because, if Apollo starts to win, she'll casually mention that little fact...?
Plus, Chances are that Judge Chambers ( ) isn't going to be NEARLY as forgiving as normal this time, once Hall casually mentions Apollo using forged evidence to get himself off the hook... And, for those who wonder how Apollo could be held accountable... He DID know exactly what room it was hidden in, despite having been held in detention for the past 2 days.....
Finally, if all else fails, Hall has one final trump to play: The fact that Apollo IS guilty of violating a police cordon on her identity. This effectively bars Apollo from being anywhere NEAR a court of law, since he technically has a criminal record right now. Pretty sure that an attorney who breaks a law is ineligible to stand in court before a disciplinary council meeting...
Sorry for such a long spoiler, but some might not know about any of this... Finally, about the President's death, if it DID occur this time, Hall has TECHNICALLY already beaten Apollo... People already think he's a crooked attorney, since knowledge that he accused an innocent woman to save his own butt is known, but if he wins this case, there will always be talk that he forged evidence to win this one, too.... Kristoph's legacy seems to be catching up to Mr. Justice.....

An update for those who are waiting on MSAT to play... I'm annoyed with myself as I've made little progress, instead working on Departed as well due to the more interest, but I have a goal of having it ready to play by a set deadline, and I'll make it. The framework has been laid out, it's just a matter of digging deep and working on it, but once that's done, I shouldn't have to go back to MSAT again, unless I need to add something in retroactively~
Departed's trial has taken a long time -- actually, it marks three months from today when the investigation was released, I believe... Certainly enjoying the scripting, however. The trial is pretty exciting, and writing Apollo in such an emotionally conflicting situation is pretty awesome. No announced release date as of yet, but it's coming. Slowly. ( )
See you next time! (I'll reply to flitchard's comments next time I post about Departed, which will be a couple of screenshots!)

Yes, that's exactly correct. The purpose of the test is to test whether you have an understanding of the material, not if you've simply memorized it and can regurgitate it. In fact, I'm sure the reason he put the 'trick questions' on the test was in order to see who understood the material and was paying attention and who was simply memorizing facts without taking the time and effort to actually understand them.

It's only been three days since the last update, but I've been in a particularly good mood today since I'm doped up on migraine tablets leaving me with a rather pleasant feeling, strangely enough since the tablets don't usually work very well...
Followers of Sirens will be happy to know that in Chapter 2: Trial, Oldbag's press-in-order and the "feared" 'three press testimony' no longer exist... I've deleted them and are in the process of replacing them with a new approach to them, one of them was based upon Ferdielance's suggestion when he posted about he stopped back in September last year due to being turned away to those rather negative aspects of Sirens...
Oldbag's press-in-order has been replaced by a simple press, except that you have to navigate a maze of choices in order to get the correct answer, or rather, statement added to the CE. Drive through it with uncertainty and you'll be tripped up when Oldbag adds to her testimony about seeing another detective, rather than the bellboy. True to her character, the choices often rely you to choose the opposite in order to gain a positive, so think carefully when playing it. And as for the 'three press testimony', you only have to press once in order to reveal the lyrics.
While it may seem easier, I've also done a bit of cosmetic surgery in order to increase the difficulty. I've created a custom witness background and edited Oldbag's sprites to create a new perceive method to some extent... You'll still need to press in order to access Perceive, but now the player will have to wonder more so what to do... Take a look. =)
Yes, that's actually an animated background. The bracelet does animate properly, as it does in game... I edited Oldbag's sprites in order to overlay them with a witness stand, of course, so nothing will look out of hand. Sadly, you can't press the bracelet, which I suppose will trip up a couple of new users. Here's my apology in advance: Sorry! ><
And taking into account Blackrune and Bad Player's comments about the ending being both predictable and hard to understand (respectively), I've changed it so the last testimony actually leads onto a third one, which is about Scarlet's admission of a 'third man -- aka, De Killer --. How you end the game from there is easy by simply pressing the second statement...
Hopefully I'll be done in time to meet my deadline! In the mean time, go play Turnabout Inferno: Chapter 2! Why, well... that would be telling!

Argh, I want to play this so bad. Inferno part 2 has actually piqued my interest onto Scarlet Hall's character. And considering people consider this trial actually good, I may have to stop procrastinating and actually play it.
