And now, debuting April 1st, is Turnabout Killer Joke.

Summary: Apollo Justice faces his strangest case yet, when he defends a comedian accused of murder.

You can play Turnabout Killer Joke here.

This is my first trial, and I largely designed it so I could get the hang of how the AAO program works. So, is it a serious case, or is it a comedy? Well, play and find out. :)

Oh, and this trial has THREE different endings (not counting the one Easter Egg ending, which you can get to in either of the two testimonies).

As far as spoilers go, this case contains mild spoilers for Turnabout Big Top and some fairly big spoilers for Ace Attorney 4: Apollo Justice.

There are two non-spoiler music tracks from Ace Attorney Investigations 2 used. In fact, nearly every Ace Attorney game has at least one track from it played at some point.

There are also subtle references to cases by Zeel1, Blackrune, and Koopakirby. See if you can find them.

Spoiler : :
Also, see if you can spot the various other references to Monty Python skits hidden throughout the proceedings.

And yes, this whole thing is basically a Monty Python reference, though it doesn't become clear until after you get past the first testimony. The general inspiration is the 'Funniest Joke In The World' story/skit from 'Monty Python's Flying Circus', but there are also references to other Monty Python skits at various points in the trial.

I've tried to attribute all the custom sprites used here, but in case I missed any attributions, feel free to let me know and I'll add them in to the credits.

Let me know what you think.

EDIT: All the 'typewriter sounds' in the testimonies should be taken care of now.

Also, here's a walkthrough, not that it's really needed since this is a pretty basic and simple case:

Spoiler : Walkthrough :
Naota Fungi's testimony

Feel free to press every statement for more background. However, the most important statement is the last statement of his testimony.

Present the Autopsy report in the last statement.

When Fungi brings up the possibility of laughing gas being used, present Ema Skye's affidavit. Page 2 is the page that contains the contradiction.

Feel free to read through the history file after it's been added to the record. It'll tell you everything you need to know about the alleged murder weapon.

Moe's Testimony

Press everything to get the full story of where he discovered the joke, but the statement that will end the testimony is the last one if you press it.

In the aftermath of the events that follow, you'll be presented with three choices. Each of them lead to three different ending sequences.

Anyway, if you have any questions or comments, feel free to ask and I'll try to respond as soon as I can.

That was an interesting case. Though my reaction was more wondering than feeling scary. :)
You have handled the editor quite well, just remember to change the speaking effect sound in the cross-examinations. People don't usually speak like typewriters. ;)

It's a bit late here, so I think I'll play this tomorrow. Sounds interesting though.

Well, it's not really intended to be scary. Though of course, this case WOULD be very scary indeed...

Spoiler : :
...if it wasn't so ridiculous. This case was inspired primarily by Monty Python's 'Funniest Joke In The World' skit/story, though references to other Monty Python skits are thrown in here and there.

As for handling the editor well, I'd looked through a lot of the other cases here, and seen various mistakes and mis-steps. I resolved to make this the best case technically I could make it. If sprites appeared in the wrong places or at the wrong times, I went back to fix them.

I tried as best I could to get the sound effects right. Though I suppose the typewriter sound is only for scene transitions.

EDIT: The Typewriter sound is fixed now. The testimonies now have normal talking sounds.

Anyway, if there are other things technically that could be better, anyone's free to let me know.

And just let me know what you thought of this case altogether. :)
